The most valuable loot in MW4 DMZ
The value is what the item card shows. You get the money by exfiling with the item and selling it at your FOB.
| Item | Rarity | Value | Seen |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold Bar | Ultra | 25,000 | In safes at Cheonwang Peak Array |
| Gold Skull | Ultra | 25,000 | In safes, for example one at Compound Echo in Hajin River Heights |
Both cards read “Can be extracted and sold in the FOB for cash.” Before you sell, check the Stash: Stash Weapon Upgrade III (5 Gold Bars, 6 more weapon slots) and Stash Item Upgrade IV (5 Gold Skulls, 18 more item slots) on the 3D Printer upgrades list.
Best loot spots
Loot changes every match, so treat these as places worth the trip, not a promise of what is inside.
The safes at Cheonwang Peak Array
Cheonwang Peak Array has three safes, and Gold Bars turn up in them. One of the safes is upstairs in the DBN building, the one with two radio towers on its roof. The threat at Cheonwang Peak Array goes up to Medium.
The Heavenly Luck Casino vaults
Operation Silent Ledger sends you into the vault off the Heavenly Luck Casino's underground parking lot, where bags of cash sit beside the printing plates, and looting it calls in enemy backup. The mission pays the Counting Room Vault key, which opens the vault of the counting room on the casino's main floor on later runs. The threat at Cheongun Village goes up to High. Key: Counting Room Vault.
Compound Echo in Hajin River Heights
Compound Echo, the military compound in Hajin River Heights, has the Gangbyeon Apartment B key lying on a shelf in one of its rooms, and a safe that can hold a Gold Skull. The threat at Hajin River Heights goes up to Medium. Key: Gangbyeon Apartment B.
The Elite Weapons Locker in Reactor 02
The Reactor DRC Locker key from Operation Fallen Ember opens an Elite Weapons Locker under the water in Reactor 02. It can hold top gear such as a Tempered Armor Vest, an Ultra plate carrier worth 15K. The threat at Haneul Nuclear Reactor goes up to High. Key: Reactor DRC Locker.
Every locked room and where its key comes from is in the MW4 DMZ key finder, and the interactive Hajin map shows each place and its threat level.
Story Missions that pay DMZ Cash
Finishing all 6 Story Missions pays 150,000 DMZ Cash, and several also hand you a key to one of the loot rooms above.
- Operation Critical Extraction (Mirae General Hospital): 25,000 DMZ Cash, plus Mirae Electrical Room key and Defibrillator.
- Operation Silent Ledger (Cheongun Village): 25,000 DMZ Cash, plus Gold Bar, Counting Room Vault key and Polaris Dagor A1 (Paid Infil).
- Operation Shopping Hacks (NuriGO Mall): 25,000 DMZ Cash, plus Coin Mining Den key and Night Vision Goggles.
- Operation Iron Citadel (Chang-san Air Base): 25,000 DMZ Cash, plus Supreme Leader's Bunker Access Card and LTV (Paid Infil).
- Operation Grid Assault (The Grid): 25,000 DMZ Cash, plus Roze's Highrise Armory key and Helicopter (Paid Infil).
- Operation Fallen Ember (Haneul Nuclear Reactor): 25,000 DMZ Cash, plus Reactor DRC Locker key and Cargo Plane (Paid Infil).
The Story Missions list has every step, and the DMZ Orders list has the challenges on each page.
How to keep your loot and turn it into cash
- Secure the best item at once. Anything outside a Secure Slot is lost if you are eliminated or your exfil fails.
- Exfil. Nothing counts until you are out: the valuables, the keys and any Weapon Manual you picked up.
- Sell at the FOB, or keep it. A Gold Bar or Gold Skull turns into 25,000 DMZ Cash, unless you are saving five for a Stash upgrade.
Where the money goes: rescuing an MIA Operator costs DMZ Cash from your Bank, more for an Operator with more Trait Points (see the MIA Operators guide), and an Operator Prestige costs 200,000 DMZ Cash for the 1st Prestige, 300,000 DMZ Cash for the 2nd Prestige and 500,000 DMZ Cash for the 3rd Prestige and later (Operator Prestige guide).
Not confirmed yet
- Lieutenants' Dog Tags may sell for about 25,000 DMZ Cash each.
- The train carries luggage, supply boxes and military lockers worth looting.
- Police stations can have an Armory Key on a desk, and the armory a free Epic weapon, which saves DMZ Cash at the Gunsmith.
Questions
What is the best loot in MW4 DMZ?
So far, Gold Bars and Gold Skulls: both are Ultra valuables worth 25,000 DMZ Cash, and their item card says they can be extracted and sold in the FOB for cash.
Where do you find Gold Bars in MW4 DMZ?
In safes. Cheonwang Peak Array has three safes, and Gold Bars turn up in them; one of the safes is upstairs in the DBN building with the two radio towers on its roof. Loot changes every match, so a safe can be empty.
How do you make money fast in MW4 DMZ?
Run the Story Missions first: 6 of them pay 25,000 DMZ Cash each, 150,000 in all. Then loot safes for Gold Bars and Gold Skulls, exfil with them and sell them at the FOB.
Should you sell Gold Bars and Gold Skulls?
They sell for 25,000 DMZ Cash each at the FOB, but two Stash upgrades take five of them: Stash Weapon Upgrade III (5 Gold Bars, 6 more weapon slots) and Stash Item Upgrade IV (5 Gold Skulls, 18 more item slots). Keep five if you want the bigger Stash.
How do you keep your loot if you die in DMZ?
Put it in a Secure Slot. Anything outside a Secure Slot is lost if you are eliminated or your exfil fails, so move your most valuable find there as soon as you pick it up.
