MW4 DMZ Argonaut Armor: How to Get It in X01

The free Argonaut Armor in the Deep Vault

It costs a Commander fight and a vault run, and pays out more than the suit: the vault holds valuables and a DRC locker as well. Step by step:

1. Find The Captain, who walks around the Main Warehouse and the Logistics Tunnel with a group of heavily armed troops. Thin them out before you start on him.
2. Fight him from as far away as you can: at range he shoots less. Shock Sticks stun him for a moment, which is your window for Drill Charges, Thermite and gunfire. Note where the ammo caches are before the fight, so you can refill on the way.
3. Take the Deep Vault keycard from his body and head for the Deep Vault, in the top-left corner of the Tac-Map. Check the weapons locker in the small office on the corridor on the way.
4. The first door is not the vault itself: it leads into the guarded area. Take the lift down and work along the corridor past the sentry guns and heavy troops, using the side rooms as cover.
5. At the end of the corridor, the stairs lead up to the control room, where you hold out against waves of riot shields and robot dogs that shock you while the vault unlocks.
6. Inside, the Core Room opens through its Side Op. The Argonaut Armor waits at the very back of the Core Room: grab it and put it in your secure slot straight away.

Blix, the Lieutenant who lives in the Deep Vault, sometimes appears when the Core Room opens. If he does, put the suit on: that is the fight it is made for. How he fights, and every other X01 boss, is in our X01 bosses table.

Getting out means going back the way you came. If the lift has stopped working, force its doors open, ride the zip line back up to the main floor and pull the switch on the wall beside the gate to open it from the inside. Bring a gas mask in case the toxic gas has started by then. The quicker way out is the emergency exfil shaft in the Medical Wing, two squares south of the vault, if you carry a Staff Emergency Exfil Keycard.

Print it at the X01 3D Printer

The recipe is 1 Specter Fabric Sample, 2 Alloyed Plating and 5 High-Tenacity Fibers, an Ultra Fire Support print. The X01 3D Printer is in the Production Assembly, in the middle of the X01 Tac-Map: it stands in an upstairs office on the west side of the area, square E5, reached by a ladder and then stairs. Bring the ingredients in your backpack: it prints from what you carry.

The X01 Orders reward

Finishing page 5 of Ghost's X01 Orders gives one Argonaut Armor as a reward, once. Page 5 asks you to destroy the Wheelson, cut the power, take a keycard from the flooded barracks and download the source code in the Data Center dark room: all of it is walked through in our X01 Orders page 5 guide, and you can tick it off on the DMZ Orders checklist.

How Argonaut Armor works

• It counts as a streak: it sits in your inventory until you call it in, in this match or a later one.
• Call it in the way you would any streak (right on the D-pad on a controller). A box drops beside you: hold interact on it to put the suit on.
• One large health bar replaces your health and your armor plates, so you soak up far more damage than normal and shrug off radiation. You cannot put plates in until the suit breaks.

The trade-offs:

• You cannot tactical sprint while you wear it.
• Other players see a helmet icon moving on their minimap wherever you go, so they know you are coming.

So it suits a fight you have chosen, a boss or a held room, better than a quiet run where you want to stay unseen. For bosses worth wearing it for, see our DMZ bosses page.
