Deadtown Hillside Facade Buildings in MW4 DMZ

The hillside facade buildings are the light-blue apartment blocks on the raised east side of Deadtown, by the river. The game sends you there for CPUs and Comms Modules: search the computers on their upper floors.

Last updated Game version: Launch (October 23, 2026)

What the game means by "Deadtown hillside facade buildings"

At the 3D Printer, every recipe has an Ingredient Locations button that shows a one-line hint for each ingredient. For the CPU and the Comms Module, the line reads:

Found primarily in the Netshin Tech Complex server rooms, Cheonwang Peak Array server rooms, and Deadtown hillside facade buildings.

The first two are server rooms in large complexes. The third, a group of buildings in a small town, is the one players search for most.

Where the hillside facade buildings are

A row of light-blue (turquoise) three-storey apartment blocks on the east side of Deadtown, on the raised ground by the river.

  • Deadtown is in Southwest Hajin, on the former North Korean side. Activision describes its east side as newer blocks on raised ground by the Hajin River.
  • In a player's run, the compass reads Deadtown and the threat is Low as they walk up to the blocks (video at 0:33).
  • From the two Re-Education Centers in the middle of town, head east toward the river.

See Deadtown and the places around it on the interactive Hajin map, or read the Deadtown location guide for its threat levels, keys and exfils.

What you find in the facade buildings

Players who farm Comms Modules here search the computers in the rooms on the upper floors of these blocks.

IngredientRarity and value
CPURare, worth 500 DMZ Cash
Comms ModuleEpic, worth 1,500 DMZ Cash

What the computers gave in one player's run:

  • A Computer gave a Control Unit (Uncommon) and a CPU (video at 0:43).
  • A Gaming Computer gave a Printed Circuit Board (Rare) (video at 0:55).

Loot changes every match, so a computer can come up empty. Check every computer on the upper floors before you move to the next block.

  • Only one Comms Module spawns in the facade buildings per deployment.

Why players farm Comms Modules here

A Comms Module is an Epic ingredient worth 1,500 DMZ Cash, and two 3D Printer upgrades ask for 5 each. The Uncommon Ingredient Printing upgrade costs 50,000 DMZ Cash plus 20 Biomaterials, 10 High-Tenacity Fibers, 5 Comms Module. Comms Modules can only be printed after a later upgrade, so the first ones have to be looted.

Later you can print them: one Comms Module takes 100 Electronics, 3 CPU, after the Epic Ingredient Printing upgrade (100,000 DMZ Cash, 10 Binding Catalyst, 10 Printed Circuit Board, 5 Military Composites). The CPUs you loot in the same buildings go straight into that recipe. Every other recipe, with a print list that adds up what you need, is on our MW4 DMZ 3D Printer recipes page.

The Netshin Tech Complex is the red-roofed twin high-rise in The Grid, the most heavily defended part of Hajin City. Server blades behind locked doors hold CPUs too: players found CPUs and Printed Circuit Boards in the server blades behind the Coin Mining Den door.

Questions

Where are the Deadtown hillside facade buildings in MW4 DMZ?

A row of light-blue (turquoise) three-storey apartment blocks on the east side of Deadtown, on the raised ground by the river. Deadtown is in Southwest Hajin; the streets outside are Low threat.

What can you find in the Deadtown hillside facade buildings?

CPUs and Comms Modules: the game's Ingredient Locations hint for both names these buildings. Players who farm Comms Modules here search the computers in the rooms on the upper floors of these blocks. In one player's run, a Computer there gave a Control Unit and a CPU, and a Gaming Computer a Printed Circuit Board.

Where else do you find Comms Modules in MW4 DMZ?

The same hint names the Netshin Tech Complex server rooms and the Cheonwang Peak Array server rooms. Once you have Epic Ingredient Printing, you can also print one from 100 Electronics, 3 CPU.

How many Comms Modules do you need?

5 for Uncommon Ingredient Printing, 5 for Stash Weapon Upgrade I, 3 for Fulton Drop Marker, 2 for Advanced UAV. You need the 5 for Uncommon Ingredient Printing before you can print any Uncommon ingredient.

Is Deadtown a dangerous place to farm?

Deadtown Exterior: Low; Re-Education Center: Medium. The other two places in the hint are the Netshin Tech Complex server rooms (Extreme) and the Cheonwang Peak Array server rooms (Medium), so Deadtown is the least guarded of the three.

Sources

Checked against the official posts on October 24, 2026. The hint is the game's own wording as two separate ingredient lists record it. Where the buildings are and what their computers gave come from a player's match video, linked at each moment; the Comms Module costs are given where two separate sources agree.
