MW4 System Requirements: PC Specs and Checker

Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i5-6600, 8 GB RAM, Radeon RX 470, GeForce GTX 970 / 1060 or Arc A580 (3 GB video memory). Recommended (90 FPS, High settings): Windows 11, Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-8700K, 16 GB RAM, RX 6600 XT, RTX 3060 Ti or Arc B580 (8 GB). Every level needs 115 GB on an SSD, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.

MW4 file size

On PC, Activision lists 115 GB of storage space at every spec level, and the game must go on an SSD. Mandatory updates may need more room. Modern Warfare 4 and Call of Duty: Warzone stay connected and share content where they can, which keeps the overall file size down.

Activision has not published the download size for PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2 yet. We add the console sizes here as soon as Activision gives them (checked October 11, 2026).

Must-haves at every level

• TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot switched on. Required on PC, and Activision may enforce other security measures too. Activision's TPM and Secure Boot help
• An Intel or AMD processor with the AVX instruction set. Only these processors are supported for now.
• DirectX 12 and a broadband internet connection. Every spec level needs both.
• Resizable BAR, if you use an Intel Arc graphics card. Intel Arc cards require it.

PC features worth knowing

• Recommended specs target 90 FPS without changing settings by hand.
• Ray tracing works in Campaign, Multiplayer and DMZ.
• Upscaling and frame generation: NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR Redstone, Intel XeSS 3 and Filmic SMAA T2X.
• A built-in Benchmark Tool runs a simulated multiplayer sequence and shows your frame rates.
• The game picks settings for your hardware automatically, with 800+ options to change.
• Installing the Xbox PC app before launch lets Advanced Shader Delivery send precompiled shaders, so the game starts faster on supported PC platforms.
• More storage space may be needed for mandatory updates.
